The Upper Peninsula Children's Coalition is pleased to announce that we will be hosting another in our series of "Afternoon Coffee Breaks" with Valerie Przywara.
This coffee break will be held on August 12th at 2pm in the Shiras Room at the Peter White Public Library.
There is no charge to attend this coffee break, but attendees are asked ot RSVP to polson@glcyd.org by August 10th.
Valerie Przywara worked as a Field Organizer for MichUHCAN (Michigan Universal Health Care Access Network) and was responsible for organizing in Congressional District 1 to promote federal health care reform legislation.
Prior to her work as a field organizer, Valerie worked for over 25 years as a clinical psychologist at Henry Ford Health System out-patient behavioral services. She is certified as a cognitive behavioral therapist through the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.
Through her work with MichUHCAN, Valerie developed in interest in eliminating health disparities by addressing the social determinants of health and reducing infant mortality by improving the status of women and girls pre-conception and between pregnancies.
